Up and coming flameworker Serbay Doru teaches his soft glass vision with Zurich Glass School. Serbay from Turkey is a visionary who creates works which grab the Zeitgeist and spirit of the creatures he imitates. Doru is one to watch in the future who will soon surpass the Italian and American Masters who create creatures, animals and fruits of the sea. There are a huge set of collectors associated with this type of work in glass. We have chosen to concentrate on soft glass as the glass of choice because times are currently tough and soft glass is much cheaper than boro.
 
In this eleven demo video tutorial E-course Serbay Doru explores how to make 'simple' butterflies, lady bugs, blown corals, blown sea shells, dragonflies and the bobtail squid. This beginner course will give you a taste of how to work on sculptural pieces multiple times in soft glass.
 
What we are creating is tricky and takes A LOT of practice, logic, patience and an inquiring mind. This E-course is a stand-alone course which is complimented by both Dr Julie 1: Introduction to sculpting animals & Loren Stump 1: Simple murrine courses. Our Serbay Doru 1 course will push your skill level, help you understand tricky sculptural techniques in soft glass, help you work quicker at the torch and give you confidence in your own glass making abilities whilst empowering you to own your creativity.
 
You will also receive a 30 minute complimentary online one-on-one consultation with ZGS founder Dr Julie Anne Denton to help you with the tricky bits, whilst receiving personal help and encouragement with the projects. It is advisable to use this consultation as our participants find them invaluable. One can work through this course of video tutorials at their own pace, but on average this course takes six weeks to complete.
 
This E-course is not available until the end of February so we are taking pre-bookings currently. Once subscribed on 1st March 2025 you will have six months of unlimited access to your channel from this point. A folder full of complimentary material is also included with this video demo E-course channel which includes a visual guide of the technical steps of the demos at a glance, other technical data sheets which compliment your demo, helpful pictures, tool and material lists and photographs of previous participants efforts.
