Think of Contemporary Contexts as the contextual-studies side of Zurich Glass School — a curated collection of conversations designed to explore the ideas, decisions and wider cultural landscape that surround a creative practice.

Through artists, designers, curators, writers, activists, gallery owners and creative leaders, we look beyond technique to ask bigger questions.

How do artists develop ideas?
How do they build and sustain a practice?
What happens when craft becomes activism?
How does work enter galleries, collections and public space?
And what can we learn from people working far beyond our own discipline?

These are not technical demonstrations. They are conversations to take into the studio with you — ideas, experiences and perspectives to absorb while you work, and perhaps carry into your own practice.
