Teaching exclusively online for Zurich Glass School we would like to present master lampworker Shane Fero from the USA.

This E-demo is designed for intermediate lampworkers/beadmakers interested getting better at sculpting off-mandrel. In this demo Shane Fero demonstrates how to create his signature work.

Shane will show you how to blow a bird in soft glass and introduce you to adding colour. "We must think of the coloration of our glass as a form of painting in that we can apply color in stages with layers of powders, frits, shards and canes to create tonal qualities as well as shades to achieve our results. The viscosities of the particular chemistries of glass add an extra problem or resolution to our results. It can be challenging, but also rewarding to experiment and bring about new effects and colors." Finally Shane will finish off his bird by creating and tweaking the very refined feet of the bird.

You have unlimited access to this e_demo for life. Expect breakages and tears. What Shane Fero is creating is tricky and takes practice.

You will also receive a complimentary free 15 minute one-on-one consultation with maestro Shane Fero or Dr Julie Anne Denton to help you through the tricky bits.
