Teaching exclusively online for Zurich Glass School we would like to present master lampworker Loren Stump the murine king from the USA. Loren teaches stamen cane, ball & three-dimensional flowers, creating frit for encasement, forming a complete lampworked flower set-up culminating in a vacuum encased paperweight/marble.
In this second Loren Stump course master and material genius Loren Stump who teaches us the strictly kept secrets associated with what the collectors want! How to make a complete paperweight the RIGHT way.
Paperweight set-up and vacuum encasement:
- Start with the end! We immediately hop into making a finished paperweight including vacuum encasement - Why? Because it takes time and practice to become accomplished at this part without any fear. This gives you time to practice so as you will have a decent paperweight by the end of this E-course.
- Stamen cane and variants
- Numerous three-dimensional flowers
- Making frit to include on the 'floor' of your paperweight
- Assembly set-up
Please remember, what we are creating is super tricky and takes A LOT of practice, logic, patience and an inquiring mind. If you can also find an unskilled assistant for the paperweight making component of the course that would be really helpful. This E-course is a stand-alone course which is complimented by both Loren Stump 1: The Secrets of Murrine and Paperweight Component Creation & Loren Stump 3: The Secrets of Complicated Murrine, Bees and Flower creation courses. Our Loren Stump 2 course is not for the fainthearted and will push up your skill level, help you understand how to make paperweights and what to include in them whilst giving you confidence in your own glass making abilities and empowering you to own your creativity.
You will also receive a 30-minute complimentary online one-on-one consultation with ZGS founder Dr Julie Anne Denton to help you with the tricky bits, whilst receiving personal help and encouragement with the projects.
