Teaching exclusively online for ZGS we would like to present master lampworker Shane Fero from the USA. Shane Fero teaches how to create figures, use gold leaf to create ornate Christmas decorations, learn multiple cold working techniques, blown vessels with gradient seals, painting glass vessels and firing. Class is taught in soft & hard glass & includes a bird demo.

 

In this Shane Fero 3 masterclass Shane will teach how to blow with tubing and work with solid in both soft and hard glass, working with gold leaf, mixed media and learning how to use all appropriate cold processing equipment safely. There is a project included to help boost your creativity. No specialist equipment other than your normal lampworking torch and tools are required.

6. Painting and firing on glass - Bird vessel - Effetre and neon tubing combination including simple coe gradient seal using paints, oxides and other materials to decorate blown glass for firing hot on the torch.

7. Cold working techniques - Using the facilities at Penland School of Crafts I will demonstrate on my own work how to use numerous pieces of finishing equipment: diamond flatbed, linisher, sandblaster, acid etching and much more.

 

Please remember, what we are creating is tricky and takes A LOT of practice, logic, patience and an inquiring mind. This E-course is a stand alone course which is complimented by both Shane 1: Back to Basics and Shane 2: Intro to Blowing courses. This Shane Fero 3 course will push your skill level and give you confidence in your own glass making abilities, empower you to own your creativity and teach you valuable polishing and finishing techniques.

One can work through this course of video tutorials at their own pace, but on average this course takes six weeks to complete. Once you have purchased this E-course it may take a few days to subscribe you to the video demonstrations. You will have six months unlimited access to your channel from this point. A folder full of complimentary material is also included with this video demo E-course channel which includes written demo transcriptions, a visual guide of the technical steps of the demos at a glance, other technical data sheets which compliment your demo, helpful pictures, tool, material and supplier lists and photographs of previous participants efforts. All transcribed demos are available upon request in 30 different languages.

 

Skill Level: Intermediate/advanced level. Own torch or access to a flameworking studio is a necessity. Experience in flameworking or beadmaking is a must.
