Detailed Course Description

Teaching electroforming EXCLUSIVELY online for Zurich Glass School we would like to present lampworker Terry Henry from the USA. In our second offering Terry Henry will present this follow-on course from TH1 herself, and delve into the use of electroforming with glass and conductive materials. 'TH 2: Designing and creating with conductive components' looks at materials that already act as conductors and revolves around the creation of an arm cuff. Participants are encouraged to utilise the elements involved with the cuff assembly which are shown in class, but own designs are encouraged. For anyone who has taken a class with Terry previously, this would be a great place to pick up electroforming where you left off. TH 2 focuses on using previously electroformed components in its construction and design. Terry Henry uses cabochon beads, semi-precious stones, ceramic faces and electroformed lizards in her own designs and participants should gather some found objects for use in their electroformed pieces. Course includes learning the properties of electroforming when using conductive elements and how to manipulate a curved surface to accommodate your design. This second exclusive course consists of three Saturday zoom sessions (USA) every week (two sessions of four hours and a final session of two hours) starting in September, there will be an accountability group where we all meet to show our successes and failures – You will also be signed up to the ‘watch back’ facility on TH 2 channel on the ZGS website so as you can re-watch any and all of Terry Henry’s all-important demos. Once class is over you have exclusive access to her demonstrations for six months to really get those techniques embedded in your mind. Class includes two complimentary one on one consultations over zoom with Terry Henry for personal help with the projects. You will also receive technical handouts which act as a handy reminders for the information at a glance.
