The Full Story
Zurich Glass School (ZGS) was founded by Dr. Julie Anne Denton in 2010. ZGS is an online school of excellence in flameworked glass. Dr. Julie has worked as an artist and a teacher in flameworking since 1996. She has two firms, Zurich Glass School & Design House, Atelier #315. Dr. Julie’s deep love of people manifests itself in an entirely new teaching system in glass designed to symbiotically cater to all skill-levels. With Dr. Julie’s guidance ZGS learning system brings enthusiasts together and reaches beginners, improvers, and professionals from across the world in seconds. The school provides a seamless technophobe-friendly service. In times of climate change and doubt, ZGS responds by providing high quality cost-effective courses and helps mother earth recover by negating the need for unnecessary travel by both our students and our artists.
Exclusive artists we represent include:
Loren Stump, Shane Fero, Terry Henry, Guido Adam, and yours truly, Dr. Julie Anne Denton.
Courses and Consultation- Courses and Consultations are six-week flameworking courses with lampworking artists who teach exclusively online with ZGS. Courses cater to all skill levels. Numerous glass types are used-Borosilicate, Neon, and Soft Glass. LIVE videos provide a birds-eye-view so every student has a front-row-seat. Time for questions and course participation is anticipated and included. ZGS provides weekly one-on-one participant consultations to help with the tricky parts.
E-learning channels - E-learning channels are self-led classes. Enjoy three months unlimited access to your favorite glass artist’s course at your own pace. A folder of course goodies is sent directly to your email to compliment your chosen class. Additionally, every E-learning channel includes a one-on-one consultation with the presenting glass artist.
The Zurich Glass School manifesto creates an affordable online learning opportunity for all levels of the glass community. We promote a supportive and respectful environment for learning. Questions, sharing of information, and exploration are all encouraged in an enjoyable and humorful way.
